<p>1. Common Mistake: Failure to set goals. Do you exercise without a clear goal in  mind? Having a clear goal set is a critical step in exercise and weight loss  success. Tracking your progress in a journal will help ensure you see your  improvements, will help motivate you and help you meet your ultimate goal.</p>
<p>2. Common Misconception: No Pain, No Gain. Pain is your body’s way of letting  you know something is wrong. Do not ignore this. When you go beyond exercise and  testing yourself, you will encounter physical discomfort and need to overcome  it. An example of this would be training for a marathon. It is important that  you have the “base training” before getting into the advance training. The base  training develops the body and gets it ready for extensive training. You need to  learn to “read” your body. Is the heavy breathing because you are pushing your  body or could it be the beginning of a heart attack. Exercise is important. Do  it correctly and you can do it for the rest of your life.</p>
<p>It is normal for you to hurt after you exercise, but it must be done gradually  with a good amount of rest periods to allow proper healing. There are two common  problems here with beginning exercisers. You can cause long lasting damage to  muscles, tendons and ligaments if you work out while you are in pain, without  allowing enough rest time to heal. You might find yourself in constant and long  lasting pain if you do this which means that you will no longer be able to  exercise.</p>
<p>If you wake up the next morning after you exercised and can barely drag your  aching body out of bed because everything hurts, you are going to be less  motivated to exercise at all. Constant pain is a sure way to kill your exercise  program.</p>
<p>3. Common Mistake: Sacrificing Quality for Quantity. When you are ready to  increase the number of reps of a particular exercise, and strengthen the  corresponding muscles, instead of forcing yourself to do a little more each time  try decreasing the number of reps in a set but increase the number of sets.  Also, back off to half your usual number of reps but add a couple of more sets.  You will feel less tired and will be able to gain strength in your fast-twitch  muscles.</p>
<p>4. Common Myth: Weight Training Makes Women Bulky. <a href="../exercise/importance-of-resistance-training-for-women" target="_self"> Weight training for a woman</a> will strengthen and tone muscle, burn fat and  increase metabolism, not build mass. Women do not produce enough of testosterone  to build muscle mass the way that men do.</p>
<p>5. Common Mistake: Over-Emphasizing Strengths. You should start focusing on your  points rather then what you are good at. This will help you balance things. For  example, if your lower body is stronger than you upper body, then try to work  only on this area one day a week.</p>

<p>In fact, there are people who find time to manage and endorse the advantages of physical fitness just so they can prove to the world what a physically fit person can look like</p>
<p>It is for this reason that most people contend that fitness models are one of the healthiest and most appealing people in the world  They embody the perfect concept of a physically fit person  Fitness models are, indeed, the epitome of health, life, vigor, and real beauty</p>
<p>In reality, virtually everyone who has the capability to move can exercise to some degree; and everyone who is capable of projecting the benefits of exercise and physical fitness can be a fitness model</p>
<p>Therefore, if you think that you have what it takes to be a fitness model, here are some tips on how to be come one</p>
<p>1  Deviate from the common notion of everybody that fitness is just a matter of the body figure</p>
<p>The problem with the society today is that people tend to admire and look up to females who are thin and sexy and to males have brawny, muscular biceps, triceps, and wonderful abs</p>
<p>The upshot is that people tend to exert so much effort in exercise not because they want to be healthy and fit but because they want to like the fitness models that they usually see in TV, posters, and magazines</p>
<p>To be a fitness model, you should start working your way to a healthier you and not just a sexier, physically attractive person that you want to be</p>
<p>After all, being a fitness model does not necessarily mean you have to have a &#8220;fashion-model&#8221; body size</p>
<p>2  Believe in the saying, &#8220;You are what you eat &#8221;</p>
<p>If you want to be a fitness model, you have to believe on the fact that our body shows what kinds of food we eat  Your body will also depict the kind of physical activities that you have in life</p>
<p>Hence, if you do not conform to this belief, chances are, you will find it hard to be a fitness model, and to inform the people what it is like to be physically fit</p>
<p>3  Live a healthy lifestyle</p>
<p>Genes play big roles in a person&#8217;s health  But these do not certainly influence what you will eat at breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and the kind of activity that you will engage in</p>
<p>Hence, if your lifestyle will not be healthy, chances are, you can never be a fitness model</p>
<p>4  Have a &#8220;positive self image&#8221;</p>

<p>Before you start lifting weights, you should know the proper ways on how to execute the exercise  Many women seriously encounter injuries when they incorrectly lift weights  It is important that you get rid first of the excess weight that you have by walking or jogging  You may also purchase weight loss equipment such as treadmills, cross bar exercises, and nutritional guides for a better health</p>
<p>Women usually do not have the natural muscle structure that most men have  They may not also have the same strength to carry heavy loads or the same resistance that men have  What more if you get older? Your body may no longer have the same strength when you were still young  This happens because of the lifestyle you have or just because of aging process  Your resistance may have just decreased and your body tends to weaken</p>
<p>You can benefit many things when you get into resistance training  Even if you are not an athlete or a body-building enthusiasts, you can get into resistance training programs  Having an active body and well-toned muscles can provide you the more strength and good resistance  You can do some workout outdoors like walking or jogging to get a better blood circulation</p>

<p>In addition, muscle stretching also gives you more flexibility  You will be able to execute exercises comfortably and effectively  It is advisable that you do repetitive stretching and warm ups  Repetition of exercises makes your muscles and joints more enhanced and more adapted to the motion you are executing</p>
<p>When you are ready to lift weights, you should first work on your larger muscles then the smaller ones  You may then finally go to the muscles that are isolated  You may execute push-ups that can enhance the upper muscles of the body  Before doing triceps extension exercises, you should first focus on the larger muscle groups such as the muscle found in your legs  You may execute exercises like repetitive squatting, box step-ups, and lunges</p>
<p>You may also work on your quads which is the muscle found on the front thigh  You may perform repetitive squatting and lunges as well  You may also use the leg extension machine and the leg press machine for a well-executed exercise</p>
<p>You should always remember that you work on the opposite muscles  Muscles tend to get imbalanced especially if the amounts of exercises you do are not equally distributed  When performing triceps extension, it is advised that you also do bicep exercises  If you work out on the chest and the stomach area like crunches, it is important that you do back extension exercises to get a balanced upper muscle toning</p>

<p>In osteoarthritis, the cartilage can be eroded so much that bone does rub on bone  These types of arthritis develop gradually over a lifetime as a simple result of the wear and tear placed on your joints over the years  Very few people escape some degree of osteoarthritis, though the severity varies a great deal  </p>
<p>As a matter of fact, if you are over the age of 50, you are likely to have at least one joint affected by osteoarthritis  Osteoarthritis affects men and women equally and is by far the most common type of arthritis, with almost 16 million Americans in the list </p>
<p>In rheumatoid arthritis, damage to the synovium is at the source of trouble  Doctors and researchers are not absolutely sure what causes it, but most think that rheumatoid arthritis is a disease in which the immune system actually attacks certain tissues in the body, including those that connect the joints and the synovium </p>
<p>Rheumatoid arthritis begins with swollen, red, stiff, and painful joints, but it may progress until scar tissue forms in the joint or, in extreme cases, until the bones actually fuse together  Almost 75% of the 2 million people with rheumatoid arthritis in the United States are women  The disease can hit as early as teen years </p>
<p>Exercising Your Prevention Options</p>
<p>Investing a little time in developing a good weight-bearing low-impact exercise and stretching plan can add up to great results when it comes to staving off arthritis pain  Strong muscles help protect the joints from wear and tear, and the movement keeps joints flexible </p>
<p>That is why the quest for fitness is at hand, even if you are 50 years and over  However, most Americans over 50 are still right where they always were sitting back and watching others jog by  Most of them contend that that is just for people who have been athletic all their life, or some say exercise is for young people and engaging into exercise will do them more harm than good </p>
<p>There are still some that insist on excusing their selves in exercise routines because they do not just have time or they have less energy than ever before  These are all lame excuses  Hence, it is time to start to get rid of those pains  Start exercising </p>
<p>Consequently, preventing arthritis is not an exact science, but physicians have discovered a few ways to lower your risk  Here is how:</p>
<p>1  Do not weight around</p>
<p>The single most important measure anyone can take to prevent osteoarthritis of the knee is to lose weight if they are overweight  Extra weight puts extra stress on your knees  If you are 10 pounds overweight, for example, you put 60 pounds per square inch of extra pressure on your knees every time you take a step  That extra pressure can slowly but surely erode the cartilage in your knees, leading to arthritis </p>
<p>A study has clearly supported the theory that weight loss weighs in on the side of prevention  In the study, overweight women who lost 11 pounds or more over a 10-year period decreased their risk of developing osteoarthritis of the knee by 50% </p>
<p>2  Stretch those muscles</p>
<p>Any kind of stretching is good as long as you do not bounce, which can lead to a muscle pull  This is according to some of the professors of clinical medicine in New York City </p>
<p>Try to hold a slow, steady stretch for 15 to 20 seconds, then relax and repeat  It is best to flex up by stretching before any exercise, especially running and walking  But it is also a good idea to stretch each day  Ask your doctor to teach you stretches that focus on potential arthritis trouble spots, such as the knees or the lower back </p>
<p>3  Walking is always the best exercise</p>
<p>Take a good long walk at least three times a week or participate in a step-aerobics or low-impact exercise routine maximum results  There is no proof that running is bad for the joints, but remember, it may aggravate an injury if you already have one  Just remember to check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program </p>
<p>The bottom line is that of all the healthful habits, exercise is the most important  This is because people are designed to be active  Hence, it is really important for people to exercise in order to stay healthy and keep those joints free from wear and tear </p>
<p>Just keep in mind that the unconditioned body, even if free from the symptoms of illness or problems like arthritis, is not at its full potential  Hence, start exercising right now!</p>

<p>Using an air rowing machine at home can have great physical benefits   It provides a good aerobic workout since you are using your entire body and can exercise as vigorously as you want; you can also go at your own pace if you need to work your way up to a better level of physical fitness   When you use air as your resistance mechanism you increase or decrease the resistance according to your own efforts, which means you have a lot less chance of overdoing it or injuring yourself </p>
<p>Most air rowing machines are very compact and can easily slide under a bed or into a closet, making them a perfect addition to your home gym equipment   Because many people that are overweight have problems with their knees, ankles, and hips these rowing machines are very good for them since there is little or no impact on these joints   You are sitting the entire time you&#39;re working out so there is no stress on your knees and ankles no matter how much extra weight you&#39;re carrying </p>

<p>This need not be so  Although hard work is truly required, extreme fitness demands one to be a slave of the iron weights  Full-body work outs can make one progress and it easily fits in one&#8217;s schedule  This is very convenient if one is looking forward to achieving extreme fitness but finds it hard to hold on to a single work out routine </p>
<p>Genuine full-body work outs done by athletes with an aim in mind makes for maximum muscle contraction using heavy weights, makes room for full recovery so one can actually grow and continue to train hard plus it also prevents burnout which is inevitable due to excess training </p>
<p>So if one is ready for extreme fitness, here is all there is to know about full body work out:</p>
<p>Full-body work out is a time saver  The biggest plus about having the whole body trained all at once is probably having to go to the gym less frequently; perhaps around two to three times for every seven days would be enough  </p>
<p>Another advantage of working out the entire body all at once is that one need not spend two or more hours of strenuous exercise in the gym for every session; one only spends one hour in the gym for every session  So that&#8217;s just three to four hours per week in the gym right? With full-body work outs, it is all about the quality of exercise one does for session and not the quantity, nor even the amount of time you allot per session </p>
<p>Full-body work out boosts the cardiovascular system for extreme fitness  One must allot two to four sets for every body part into the one hour session  Jam packed with exercising, each one hour session then gets the heart and the rest of the cardiovasular system pumping and up to speed in a flash  </p>
<p>Now feeling pumped up, next find out what rules does one have to follow when engaging in full-body work outs:</p>
<p>Training commences only once every two to three days  This is so easy isn&#8217;t it? What is great about this is that there is time spared during rest days so that one can indulge in a few cardio exercise sessions instead of depending on cardio execises one normally does at the end of each work out session which after all, are not at all very effective </p>
<p>Heavy lifting is strongly advised  Contrary to popular belief, especially among athletes  It is not true that it is good to get trapped on training lightly than one actually could so as to conserve energy for the other body parts that will come later in the routine  What is true is that one cannot achieve optimal progress if one is not training heavy, no matter which program that person is doing </p>
<p>One exercise only per muscle group  This is very easy to follow and is also important  Doing basic exercises which are also intense means you do not have to do another different exercise for that body part </p>
<p>Keep work out short  Resistance training affects the natural homones of the body connected to muscle building  Intense exercising boosts the testosterone levels and long work outs increase those of catabolic cortisol  Sixty minutes of work out allows you to get the best of both worlds  </p>
<p>Now with this convenient and powerful work out regimen, one can now truly experience extreme fitness </p>

<p>However, like physical fitness, sports fitness is also capable of toning down the body fats of a person  Because of its rigid and strict health program, a sports enthusiast is able to maintain a well-balanced lifestyle in order to cope up with the strenuous demands of sports </p>
<p>In sports, people should learn how to value their health  Otherwise, they can never endure the kind of energy that is required when playing sports activities </p>
<p>Therefore, for people whoa re into sports fitness, here are some tips that you could use in order to stay healthy and be active on whatever sports you want to pursue:</p>
<p>1  Drinks lots of water</p>
<p>Humans can survive days, or even months without food, but they can never last a day without water </p>
<p>Water is, indeed, the most important element needed by the body  Excessive perspiration, without any means of replenishing the lost fluids will result to serious health problems, and even death </p>
<p>Therefore, for people who are into strenuous exercises and trainings, it is best to always drink lots of water </p>
<p>However, for sports enthusiasts, water may not be enough to replace the kind of fluid lost  Hence, it would be better if they would have sports drinks instead  Aside from the fluid, sports drinks have tow additional important ingredients needed by a person who is into sports fitness: carbohydrates and electrolytes </p>
<p>Electrolytes are usually lost during strenuous physical activity, and this can only be replaced through sports drinks  Carbohydrates, on the other hand, are also needed by the body during rigid workouts to provide more energy so that the body can cope up to the demands of the activity </p>
<p>2  More veggies!</p>
<p>People who are into sports fitness require more intakes of vegetables and fruits  This is because the body is craving for more vitamins and mineral supplements  It makes the body stronger and healthier enabling it to cope up with demands of the activity </p>
<p>3  Calcium intake</p>
<p>People who are into sports fitness should have calcium present on their diet  This is to provide stronger bones to the body </p>
<p>Since the body is more exposed to greater physical activities, it is important to have stronger bones in order to avoid fractures or certain bone diseases like &quot;osteoporosis &quot;</p>
<p>Calcium can be found in different vitamin and mineral supplements  They are also abundant in foods like sardines, tofu, dairy products, etc </p>
<p>4  Warm exercises are always important before any kind of strenuous activities </p>
<p>This kind of activity is needed in order not to strain the body  Hence, before playing the sports that you have always love, it is best to do some warm-up exercises first </p>
